Derrell Frazier is a Youth Advocate, Community Organizer and Civic leader passionate about social justice and system reform. His areas of expertise and interest are policy, youth leadership/partnership, program management and mentoring. Derrell has faced and triumphed over many barriers and challenges that accompany growing up without his parents, poverty, and dual-system involvement. Being raised by his single grandmother along with 10 other siblings, he is familiar with how challenging it can be to navigate and triumph over an environment full of barriers. As a public policy student and native of Baltimore City, Derrell’s on a mission to reform systems, develop innovative solutions to systemic injustices, and create opportunities to leverage youth voice and leadership. His vision is a more just world where youth are supported and successful within communities that are equitable and safe. He is dedicated to improving the outcome of success for young African American men in Baltimore City and previously incarcerated offenders. Currently, Derrell serves as a mentor and community leader working to motivate others who face the same difficulties.
