BetterU Construction Training

Stan Waring joined the Job Opportunities Task Force (JOTF) in April 2023 as the BetterU (BU) Job Placement Coordinator to serve JOTF’s mission and vision by developing and advocating policies and programs to increase the skills, job opportunities, and income of low-wage workers and job seekers in Maryland. He is an experienced educator and program planning with several years of experience recruiting employee-partners and helping low-wage workers obtain meaningful employment. Stan was previously employed with Department Youth Rehabilitation Services in Washington, D.C., Fayetteville State University, and the Joe and Joan Martin Cultural Center, where he created the Community Impact Scholars Internship Program, which provided paid internships to African-American and Latino students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (S.T.E.M) careers. Stan looks forward to helping the BU trainees transition from the BetterU Construction Training program into successful careers.
