Caryn York participates in a discussion on the digital divide with Delegate Brooke Lierman
On Tuesday, May 19th, Caryn York, CEO of JOTF, served as a guest speaker in a conversation about the digital divide with Del. Brooke Lierman. Caryn highlighted how poor Internet access is one of the top five barriers to employment. Those trying to telework, find employment, or access public benefits are now trying to navigate frequently cumbersome online systems. Further, many are doing so with the added stress of additional childcare responsibilities. While affordable Internet was once considered a luxury item, it is now integral to consider policy solutions for the digital divide beyond K-12 access.
