MD CASH Campaign

The Job Opportunities Task Force is the fiscal agent for the MD CASH (Creating Assets, Savings and Hope) Campaign, which is a coalition of organizations from around the state of Maryland that believe that working families deserve to have financial stability. Together they provide free tax preparation, outreach about the Earned Income Tax Credit, education about the dangers of Refund Anticipation Loans and other predatory lending practices, financial counseling and education, and advocacy for more accessible and comprehensive financial services for low income people.

The campaign focuses on helping working families maximize their financial opportunities and resources through the following activities:

  • Marketing the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and the dangers and costs of Refund Anticipation Loans (RALs) and similar loan products.Building the capacity of local jurisdictions to provide free income tax preparation and financial education/counseling to low and moderate income residents.
  • Increasing awareness of financial issues impacting working families in Maryland.
  • Advocating for policies that help working families to build strong financial futures.
