Social Scientist
Dr. Ahsanuzzaman joined the Job Opportunities Task Force (JOTF) in April 2023 as a Social Scientist to serve the JOTF’s mission and vision by supporting research needs on policies and proposing amendments to policies in collaboration with the public policy and advocacy team within JOTF. He is an experienced economist and social scientist with expertise in research design, data analysis, and program evaluation. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA. Before joining JOTF, Ahsanuzzaman held several positions in academia and research organizations, including the University of Delaware and the University of Maryland at College Park. His past work spans over multiple countries such as Bangladesh, Indonesia, the U.S., Latin America, and the Caribbean countries on diverse issues, including labor market issues, government policy evaluation, adoption and impact of technology, environmental, climate, and resource economic issues. He has published several research papers in peer-reviewed journals and served as a reviewer for several academic journals and an external reviewer for grant proposals. Ahsanuzzaman is a skilled project manager who can lead teams and coordinate with stakeholders.
